My most versatile wood carving tools. Usually used held palm up and thumb high on far end od handle for leverage. The double edge cuts both pulling and pushing, so as the grain changes you don't need to turn the piece around. Free hand can hold wood, so a vice is not needed.

Please Note:    I recently changed the handle design for all the mini bent knives. Pictured below are the new and old handles for comparison. The old handles were the same as for the full size bent knives. The new handles are more appropriately sized for the smaller bent knives. The individual pictures below are with the new smaller handles, and that is what you will now be getting when ordering them.

Small picture of bent knife, hand forged wood carving knife by North Bay Forge for whittling and general wood working. Also known as crooked knife, as used in the Native North Coast style wood carving. This is my smallest pointed bent knife for reaching into the tightest areas such as deep eye sockets. Also good for general whittling. It is not useful for hollowing because the the blade is not curved enough.

Also known as crooked knife, as used in the Native North Coast style wood carving. Although outstanding for small detail carving, this knife can also be a real workhorse to hollow out areas quickly. Also very good for carving small spoons and bowls.

Also known as crooked knife, as used in the Native North Coast style wood carving. The tip is bent to a tight radius for aggressive removal of material. Also good for reaching into tight areas that don't have enough room for larger tools.

Also known as crooked knife, as used in the Native North Coast style wood carving. The radius of curvature of the blade decreases gradually all the way to the tip. So the user has a variety of curves to use for general carving. A very good general hollowing out knife.

Half size versions of my regular Bent Knives. Usually held palm up and thumb high on far end of handle for leverage. These knives offer the ultimate in control for precise carving because the blades are so short and very close to user's hand. They are real favorites.
