Contact Retiring Free Videos

Posted April 2023

I’m planning to “retire” in April 2024. Although most of my tools will be discontinued, I will probably continue making these:
Shallow Bent Knife, BN-1
General Bent Knife, BN-G
mini Deep Bent Knife, mBN-2
Medium Straight Knife, SN-M
Most of the Adzes (though sporadically)
Chef's Knives

I'm also hoping to have a bit more fun and offer some tools I've mostly never made before, and post them for sale on my site.
I’m sorry for a bit of a void this may leave, but I hope the free videos I’ll be making may help others to fill in, and potentially develop a good business like my own.

If you want to be notified about those videos and tools, email me. Also, please let me know if there is a cool edge tool you would like to see me make.

Some tools on my list:

Sculpting Gouges – various sizes and sweeps, very fine, slight fishtail, bevels on the convex side, for hand use only

Pickeroon – probably blade only

Block Knife – sort of like a drawknife with one end held down on a pivot

Large Scorp – for two handed use (like I’ve made before)

Scraper – hefty, fully heat treated, with a rolled burr for taking very fine shavings

Large Bullnose Chisel – slight fishtail, very fine for hand use only, about 1 1/4” wide

All Metal Framing Chisel – for heavy use, 1 or 1 1/2” wide

Swan Neck Gouge - for spoon and small bowl carving

Extra Large Elbow Adze Irons – straight and gutter, designed for two handed use with long handle

Spatula – Stainless steel, stiff but with the edge finely beveled, very good for scraping cast iron skillets

Hooks – various kinds for coats, pots, small utensils

My carving knives are intended for serious wood carvers. They are razor sharp and can be very dangerous if used improperly. Please be careful and don't allow young people to use them unsupervised.

Your satisfaction is fully guaranteed. If you have a problem of any kind with one of my knives, please let me know. I will make it right with you.
